Top 50 Ghanaian Journalists

The basis of journalism as the fourth estate and a watchdog for corruption and injustice brings an unequivocal responsibility for journalists to be equally skilled and hard-working as they are virtuous and ethical.

However, it could be argued that the digital world we live in today, with its instantaneous access to information, click-bait culture and citizen journalism, has seriously impeded the prevalence of quality journalists.

Despite this, journalists who showcase outstanding work and are considered as highly influential risk-takers in today’s media still exist

Across the world, we are admirers of gentlemen and ladies who dedicate and risk their lives to keep us informed on happenings from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.

In Ghana, the story isn’t different. Beyond the news these individuals create the tidings and also set aside to live a life to inspire the next generation of journalists who are yearning to venture into a career that is rapidly evolving.

The purpose of this research is to throw the spotlight on Ghanaian newsmakers, newscasters and the evangelists of credible information in the media both locally and internationally.

These people can also be described among the most courageous individuals in Ghana as they go beyond their work, to ensure results are attained from their work be it on the field or through other advocacy works.

As you take time to examine the amazing works of these outstanding Ghanaians, we indulge you to share this with more young people in your circle.

The purpose of this publication is also to provide accessible information on journalists who have dedicated their career to creating stories that go beyond news, but make available an avenue of impact coupled with their stories.
